I stayed one night at Kirinda Heaven. It’s a beautiful, family run property. The property is fairly new so all of the accommodations are modern. It also has a stand alone bungalow room, which I stayed in, which is like having one’s own little home! There is a beautiful pool on the property as well. The family that runs the property is great and will do everything they can to make your stay enjoyable.

The hotel staff is so nice and friendly, and they go out of your way to give you the most pleasant stay you could even imagine. When you book a villa, you get the whole villa for yourself, a nice bedroom with good wifi and television. The bathroom is very nice and clean. The villa is newly built, and a modern look. You get a private pool with an amazing view over the lake, with water buffalos, peacocks, birds, lizards and even crocodiles! At sunset, giant bats fly over the area and gives an amazing view (don't worry, they don't get close). The hotel had arranged a safari for us and it was great. When we came back in the morning the staff had amazing breakfast ready for us. And after that we enjoyed the day at our own pool. The staff later recommended that we took a boat tour at the lake, and it was really nice. The hotel had arranged a tuktuk for us, and the boat tour was so relaxing watching birds and crocodiles. After going off the boat, the tuktuk took us to see where all the giant bats 'hang out', which were in trees right next to the lake. The hotel can make you all kinds of food whenever you like. They can make both local food or international food. The Prices are fair, and the food is very good. The staff are really nice and kind people. They had our clothes laundered, and some of my clothes needed some sewing, and a member of the staff was so kind and offered to have his wife fix it for me within hours. We only stayed for two nights, but we wish we had stayed for much longer.

Featuring garden views, Tribe Yala - Luxury Camping offers accommodation with a garden, a bar and a shared lounge, around 12 km from Tissa Wewa. I liked the jungle location and the vicinity to Yala park. I appreciated the accomodating staff.

Located within less than 1 km of Tissa Wewa and 25 km of Bundala Bird Sanctuary in Tissamaharama, Tissa Rainbow Guest & Yala provides accommodation with seating area. A wonderful host set the tone for our great stay here. On checking in we were given a welcoming Coconut which was so refreshing after our trip from Ella. The room was clean and spacious with excellent air con. We enjoyed all meals there - lunch, dinner and breakfast -during our brief stay. They arranged an excellent Yala National Park tour for us at an extremely competitive price. Our driver Alim was fantastic and made every effort to ensure that we got the best value for our day. Unlike some drivers in the park, he did not rush but made sure we experienced the best day possible. As so many other have commented the host took us to the bus station and made sure we got the correct bus for our forward journey to Matara. This is a terrific place to stay and made all the better by a host who has his customer's interest at heart. Thank you - Peter and Merlinda Miles

Offering a garden and lake view, Blue Sky Hotel Yala is located in Yala, 3 km from Tissa Wewa and 28 km from Bundala Bird Sanctuary. The Manager was absolutely amazing and took so much care of us. He made our experience at the place so easy. I recommend !

Spread across 2 acres of lakefront property, Wild Lotus Yala is set in a quiet rural village close to Yala National Park. Couldn’t recommend this property more, 11/10. Justin and his team were fantastic with arranging all we needed, welcoming us, and going above and beyond with requests. Justin arranged a private cooking lesson for me with his chef which I would highly recommend. It is a small collection of private villas so there is complete peace and calm. The villas were luxurious and roomy for a couple and would definitely be a great place to stay for a family vacation. The food was by far the best and most authentic we had in Sri Lanka and outranked all other hotel food. Fresh fruit was amazing. The safari arranged by Wild Lotus was a stunning private experience to be remembered forever, with a comfortable Land Rover for the ride. Would stay here again in a heartbeat, 10x better than any other hotel in the area!

Located just 2.5 km from Tissa Wewa, Blue Birds Tissa & Yala safari provides accommodation in Tissamaharama with access to a garden, a shared lounge, as well as a 24-hour front desk. Such a wondeful place to stay. The host is so helpful and friendly. He helped us arrange a safari with a very good guide and took us around to local attractions like birdwatching and batwatching and made getting to and from Tissa easy. Good food and clean room.

Boasting lake views, Lake Face Cabana offers accommodation with balcony, around 4.5 km from Tissa Wewa. This property offers access to a terrace, free private parking and free WiFi. Our time in this place was a genuinely beautiful experience. Equipped with binoculars, we enjoyed observing birds by the lake during the day. In the evening, the owner generously offered us a ride to a larger lake, where we had the opportunity to look at the bird nests and trees full of bats in the middle of the lake. The family was exceptionally helpful, providing us with delicious meals and engaging in friendly conversations. Additionally, they organised a memorable safari for us. We felt truly welcomed and embraced by their hospitality.
