The rooms were comfortable and spotless. Dimu and his wife were so genuine and lovely, and the curries were delicious. Dimu organised a safari tour with Sumudu as our guide. Sumudu's knowledge and respect for the animals was very much appreciated. We saw many wild elephants, Sambur deer (very rare), deer, wild boar, golden jackals, Buffalo, crocodiles, peacocks, monitor lizards, mongoose and many beautiful birds. One of the highlights of our trip! Thanks for an amazing stay, Dimu!

We’ve been travelling in Sri Lanka for a month and this has been our absolute favourite accommodation! The young couple who own it go above and beyond, they are so kind and thoughtful - from welcome drinks on arrival to dropping us off at restaurants and refusing to accept any money for the journey. The room is lovely, clean, has strong WiFi and AC and a super handy minbar with great snacks. The breakfast is so nice, lots of fresh fruit and traditional Sri Lankan options. Would definitely recommend eating in their restaurant for lunch or dinner too. We ate out at different restaurants a few times in the town and the food was no where near as good.

The host was very nice, we bought a safari tour through him and a taxi to our next location. Also, we ate at his restaurant and it was good authentic food. Our room had AC and bathtub + outdoor shower.

It was one of the best stays during our Sri Lanka trip - the property is beautiful, well maintained and very comfortable. We loved the pool area and the fact that we felt surrounded by the nature. Also the rooms were very spacious and tastefully designed. The hotel manager was beyond helpful and personally organized the fixing of my phone screen when it got broken. He also organized a very nice morning safari and a great massage for us for a reasonable price. We loved every minute of our stay at The Countryside Udawalawe and would have wished to spend there more time!
