Lots of nice pockets to sit and relax, the rooms and the whole hotel are beautiful, and Amani, who runs it, is lovely and incredibly helpful -- we were met at the airport even though we forgot to share our flight time! Could not recommend more.

This historical Arabian-style building is located in the UNESCO-listed town of Lamu. It is less than 300 metres from the seafront and 3 km from the white sandy beach. Mostly, I was totally relaxed and the longer O stayed, the more relaxed I became. It is very well maintained and beautifully renovated hotel in the middle of the old town of Luma. Great effort has been made to reduce its environmental footprint and it is very eco friendly.

The house is a beautiful gem within old lamu town. The architecture is stunning, the rooms are freshened by fans and the pool is great to escape the day’s heat. The house staff is incredibly helpful and Peter was a great caretaker. We would also warmly recommend arranging a tour of the old town and of shela, as well as a boat tour if one wishes, with Abu. Abu is knowledgeable and loves his job; he is a great storyteller and a great artist (ask to see his recycled art). Walking around Lamu with him and learning about this unique place from him was a wonderful experience.

Joseph and Mpanzi were very lovely and took good care of me. I enjoyed chatting with them and really felt like I had made new friends by the time I left. The house is large and clean and is well located in Shela. A very comfortable base to explore Lamu and its delights.

Set 300 metres from Lamu Fort, Beytsalam offers accommodation with a shared lounge, a terrace and a shared kitchen for your convenience. Complimentary WiFi is offered. Beytsalam means hospitality. Everything was perfect, from our arrival (with a pick up from the airport arranged by the hotel) to our last day on the island. The location is very good, close to the sea and the port (for a day trip on a boat) and the city center, which makes you really experience the life of Lamu. The hotel manager helped us organise various activities, like a boat trip and a snorkeling trip and all exceeded our expectations: the crew, the food and the experience as a whole were great. He also recommended good restaurants nearby which we really loved. We always felt safe and that we had someone to rely on. The hotel itself is in a very nice building and we really enjoyed the breakfast on the terrace with the sea view. The room was clean and comfortable. We wished we could have spent more days there!

Featuring an outdoor swimming pool, Banana House and Wellness Centre is located in Shela village, Lamu 2.7 km from Gallery Baraka. The property is set 2.8 km from Lamu Fort. The hotel is beautiful, and the staff is always available and welcoming. We have access to a wide range of activities and the hotel is well located, in the center of Shilla and a few minutes by walk from the beach.
