Very friendly host, who communicated on whatsapp on what to do. Eg breakfast tips etc No mosquito due to high altitude!

Featuring a garden, Eco Guest House - Sarapiquí 1 is situated in Sarapiquí, within 35 km of La Paz Waterfall Gardens and 38 km of Catarata Tesoro Escondido. This "Guest House" is huge. A family of 4+ could easily move in here and live comfortably. The back decks are beautiful to just sit and watch the jungle. It is a little way down the road from the city, which means it is quiet and very laid back. I had both a breakfast and a dinner while at the guest house. Both were great portions with a lot of variety, tasty, and well worth the money. Unfortunately, my schedule and Wendy's schedule didn't align for her bird tour. There was lots of flora and fauna to explore. My personal sightings included Toucans and a Morpha butterfly. I'm willing to bet that there was a lot I missed that Wendy could have found and shared!

Boasting a garden and views of garden, Casa del Cafe-Familiar is a guest house set in a historic building in Heredia, 40 km from Poas National Park. We were absolutely amazed by this property, which has a spirit of the old times, large rooms with large windows, tastefully decorated with period furniture, but all very comfortable, shining and spotlessly clean. The hosts very welcoming, nice, even knew where the Czech Republic is and that it used to be part of Czechoslovakia!!! Bravo!!! The place is coveniently located for trips to Volcán Poás and beautiful La Paz Waterfull Gardens. We simply loved it.

The property features views of the mountains and is 49 km from San José. peaceful, simple but had all the necessities, so many birds, hammock!!, fan, and Wendy and her family were very helpful and delightful! super close to a beautiful waterfall with a nice cool walk through the forest, and nearby to a river swim spot!

Welcome to Casa Familiar La Tortuga, your home away from home in Barva de Heredia! It is a family house with very nice people. The room was clean and cozy with a balcony to watch birds. Brakfast was perfect. There was private parking.

Offering a garden and garden view, Deluxe boutique lodge is situated in Vara Blanca, 6.2 km from La Paz Waterfall Gardens and 7.6 km from La Paz Waterfall. The Deluxe Boutique Lodge was perfect in so many ways. We booked this location to be close to Poas National Park and La Paz Waterfall Garden. It was 20 minutes to one and 10 to the other. Walter met us at the property even though due to weather and construction we were about an hour late. He also became our lifesaver that day. Again, due to weather, a family member was delayed arriving into San Jose. Walter volunteered to drive down to San Jose and pick her up. The property is located on the main road into the small village of Vara Blanca, walking distance to restaurants and shops. The Lodge is super clean and very nicely decorated. The beds were very comfortable, the WIFI very good and the huge TV was a welcome diversion during the stormy weather. We do not hesitate to recommend this property
