A recently renovated property, Branco Suites - Rooms & Holiday Apartments is located in Santa Maria near Praia de Santa Maria, Praia António Sousa and Ponta da Fragata Beach. Everything was perfect! The apartment was great, in a quiet area and close to the pedestrian street and the beach. The kitchen had everything you needed in case you wanted to cook anything, big balcony, comfortable mattress, clean bathroom. Dali and Zuela are absolutely amazing, they arranged a taxi from us from the airport so everything went smooth. They are always there to help you with whatever you need - be it the accommodation, booking trips for you, or telling you how to find your way around the island. On top of that, when my husband got (slightly) bitten by a dog, Dali went above and beyond to find us a clinic that was open and we are grateful for that! She even helped us with other stuff after we moved to another hotel, which wasn’t her job anymore, but being the nice person that she is, she did that too. Our only regret is that we didn’t spend the whole holiday there!

Featuring a garden and views of quiet street, Casa Pau is a recently renovated country house located in Santa Maria, 200 metres from Praia António Sousa. Nice large room on the edge of town away from large resorts. Great ceiling fan (no AC) which had a consistent white noise that blocked out all noise, for a quiet great night of sleep. Well planned room with plenty of practically placed shelves and hooks to put items. The 20 euro airport pickup for our 1am checkin went smoothly. 5min walk from a small grocery and the water where you can see a great sunset. Great communication with host on WhatsApp.

Featuring sea views, Yacht Club Sal offers accommodation with terrace, around 2.3 km from Fontona Beach. With city views, this accommodation features a balcony. Mimanca first of all is a very sweet and nice woman. She gave us amazing advices to visit the area and her her little hostel is very charming and comfy. We had a nice room, hot water and a direct access to the terrace. The little village of Palmeras is charming and there are no e restaurants a minute away from the hostel. My wife and I had a lovely stay.

Situated in Santa Maria, 300 metres from Praia de Santa Maria and 500 metres from Praia António Sousa, Lc Apartments - Sunshine features spacious air-conditioned accommodation with a balcony and free... We loved everything about this property. The apartment was clean, modern and has everything you need for a comfortable stay. Bed was comfy (even went and bought us a duvet as I can’t sleep without one :) The shower was great, it was in a great position but also quiet, the rooftop pool is amazing and the staff are great 👍 Walking distance to lovely sandy beach and all the shops and restaurants. Highly recommended.

Spacious apartment with a balcony overlooking the ocean located right in the heart of Santa Maria, just a 3-minute walk from the beach and a 1 to 5 minute walk to amazing restaurants and shops. The apartment has a bottle of water, towels, very comfortable matress, beach towels(!), all necessary kitchen utensils, and a new air conditioner. The apartment has good windows that block out most of the street noise, you just need to close them. The transfer from and to the airport was excellent and I also had a private tour of the island with the driver Jaime..

Sunshine home Sal has a balcony and is situated in Santa Maria, within just 500 metres of Praia de Santa Maria and 1.5 km of Praia António Sousa. The apartment is perfectly located for the beach which is only a 5 minute walk, and the town at around 10 minutes to the pedestrian street and its restaurants. It was spotlessly clean with everything we needed for our stay. Although we didn’t use it, the pool is clean and well maintained as is the apartment complex. There are a couple of mini-markets on the doorstep for essentials. Ponta Preta beach is close enough to walk with a couple of beach bars. Zuela is the perfect host, on hand when needed but not intrusive, she couldn’t have been better.
