Location on the water was close to many restaurants. It was also right in town and close to the car park.

The cottages are super cute and cozy! The staff are all very friendly and welcoming. They work really hard and it shows. The kitchen made me a vegetarian dish to accommodate a food allergy which was amazing. Dan in the bar makes some great cocktails. Not only is he knowledgeable about scotch, he makes the best amaretto sours I’ve ever had.

Jayne and Jordan are exceptional hosts and clearly go to great lengths to ensure everyone enjoys their stay. The location is great and the entire property is spotlessly clean. The breakfasts each day were delicious.

Portree is lovely. We visited in early may and the crowds were mostly manageable. I would be a little concerned in the heart of the season. My suggestion to the powers that be would be to consider shuttle busses to the popular sites from centralized collection points; discourage rental cars from driving to the sites independently in some way. The small roads and on-site car parks can become overly crowded. We couldn't get near Quiraing for the traffic on the winding one lane road. In all other respects, Skye and Portree are lovely and a pleasure to visit.

I only spent one night in Portree so my judgement is limited. Even before the tourist season started, it was quite crowded. I can’t imagine what it must be like at the height of the season. Skye is lovely but expensive compared to other locations in Scotland.

Skyelight Apartment is at a great location, very near to Portree town centre, maybe 1-minute walk. Nicely furnished, warm and cozy. Note though there is no washing machine. Otherwise, a wonderful accommodation.

Very touristy not quite what we’d expected restaurants we sampled not as good as on the highlands NC500 so for us I wouldn’t do Skye in favour of the Highlands I’d spend longer on the NC500 west side.
We stayed here for 2 nights and it was honestly such a dream. The location is impossible to beat, right outside Portree and very close to The Storr. The room was cozy and very well furnished. Sally and Robin went out of their ways to make us feel welcome and our stay comfortable. We were here for our honeymoon and they wrote us a card and left us snacks when we arrived. The breakfast was delicious and Robin gave us recommendations for what to see on the Isle of Skye which we took and were so glad we did. Perfect B&B experience!
You’re staying here for the location. It’s right on the harbour, with great views across the bay. We had room 12 - a family room with 1 double, 2 singles and a sofa. The room is large with a lovely view. A breakfast basket was provided, as was a fridge filled with juices, cheese, milk etc.
Staying here was an ideal central base for exploring all of Skye, and it was also great for a boat trip from the Portree harbour which we also recommend.
There’s a number of fish and chip restaurants etc nearby for dining in/take out.
In a town with limited options for those who have not made dinner reservations in advance at the more high-end dine in establishments, your options are fish and chips/fried food stand take out; standing in line for an hour or more waiting for a seat at a seafood place by the harbor, cash only Indian, or convenience store food. The Royal hotel has a restaurant with good service and a decent meal especially if you are a guest staying there. It is also very centrally located to the harbor and shops in Portree.
Kisteen and Amy made us feel at home the moment we walked through the door. Stonefield House feels more like a boutique hotel than a B&B. The rooms were spotless and the bed very comfortable. Breakfasts were excellent and set us up for a full day of walking. Providing a decanter of whisky for an evening tipple was a lovely touch. Stonefield House is located in a peaceful spot, but is less than a a 10 minute walk from the centre of Portree, so no problems at all with parking.
everything! Beautiful location, relaxing, and well equipped! Exceptionally clean!
A very short drive to Portree for shopping.
Watching the tides come and receded was soothing. It was wonderful to see the sheep, and numerous types of birds!
The unit is on the ground level of the host’s home so it would have been very easy to get assistance if it was needed.
The hosts were kind and considerate! If ever we return to the Isle of Skye we would be happy to stay there again!
The Apartment was a great place for our short stay on the Isle of Skye.
Allocated Parking Space for Each Apartment, to the left of them meant everyone had close access.
Basic Tea/Coffee provided on arrival. Able to cook our meals and Sky Access on the TV, appreciated.
Bedroom was comfortable.
10 minute walk takes you to the harbour heart of Portree where Restaurants and Food shop are available.
Would Recommend.
Excellent location in downtown Portree. Found parking in front of the hotel and had no reason to move it as the whole town is walkable from here. Room was large as well and the town gets relatively quiet at night. One occasion of drunken Scottish signing on the street had us laughing, but other than that it was very quiet. Nearby groceries are an additional plus if you're staying for a couple of days.
Good location in the middle of the higland and near to Portree (10 minutes by car) where you cam found market, pub and restaurants.
It was perfetc for our roadtrip in the higlands.
It’s a camping pod not a hotel room so you don’t expect alle the conmfort that you can found in a usal hotel.
The Staff is fantastic, they were always available from the booking and they help us with all our request
The location was perfect for exploring the Isle of Skye. The view out the front of the property was amazing. Convenient to Portree for meals and shopping. The lodging was very clean, modern with a pleasant decor. Good wifi. Many nice treats provided for our enjoyment for breakfasts and afternoon teas We appreciated the nice shower with a heated towel rack.
The staff was incredible! We had an amazing stay in this hotel. Bedroom was HUGE with comfy beds, a very good shower and a view of the harbour. Location was right in the centre of Portree with free parking available. The breakfast was amazing and there was also a gluten-free/veggie menu!
We strongly recommend staying at Caledonian!
This hotel is in a good position overlooking the bay, with Portree shops, bars, restaurants and the harbor all in comfortable walking distance. Our rooms were comfortable and clean. The breakfasts were perfectly cooked and filling. There is ample parking. The friendliness and attention to detail from our hosts was excellent
Excellent location, hidden minutes away from the tourist hustle and bustle in Portree. Stunning views of the Harbour. Great meal at the restuarant which overlooks the lawn and Harbour. Perfect location as a base for driving around Skye to look at the sights. Large room with great modern bathroom. Very well appointed.
In the very touristy Portree the Rosedale Hotel is situated perfect, but due to the many tourists in the harbour area, it might be difficult to get very calm. The restaurant (both for breakfast and dinner) was the best eating place in Portree and very nice service.
The location was perfect! We could walk to town, yet it was very quiet. There was plenty of room for our group of 6 and it was very clean. Portree is a great location to stsy on Skye...it's an easy drive to the most popular sites to see. We would stay here again.
I really enjoyed my stay at the Isle of Skye camping pods. The space was a lot more spacious than I expected, and the toilet was a luxury for a camping pod. The grounds were clean, and the night time was extremely peaceful and pleasant.
Staff was very kind and helpful. The athmosphere was very authentic and pleasant and it really added to our overall experience of being in Scotland. This is a highly recommendable hotel for anyone visiting Isle of Skye!
We loved staying in the Portree Hotel! Our room was beautiful, comfortable and clean. All of the staff were friendly, helpful and kind, and the food was delicious! We would definitely stay here again!
Great hotel 10mins walk from the centre of Portree. Comfortable and fairly modern room considering it is Skye. The room is quite small, but absolutely fine for a night or two.
