Where do I begin? Pascal and his team have made our trip to Le Thor one we will never forget. What a great host and absolutely the prime location if you want to experience the countryside of France. The rooms are huge and cozy, they feel like royalty rooms. The breakfast included was amazing: fruits, yogurt, bread, etc. Definitely worth it to pay extra for the spa - it just adds so much to the overall experience. Lastly, Pascal made sure we had the best stay - we didn’t have a car so he helped arrange for our cabs and restaurants. We feel very nostalgic looking back at our stay. If there is an accommodation that has set a high standard for us - it is Les Carmes. <3

We had stayed near Le Thor in the past and found this B&B for this trip. The hosts were wonderful, friendly and considerate. They have restored this beautiful resort with all the amenities we needed. They encouraged the guests from different countries to get to know each other. They ate dinner with us each evening. There is an additional charge, but totally worth it as Manu is an excellent chef. He made us red meat free meals, serving excellent fish and vegetables. He used local, fresh ingredients. Claudine hosted aperitifs before dinner. Breakfasts (includes) were delicious with plenty to eat. The pool is large and in the late afternoon was sunny for a swim.
The room was large with air conditioning and a large tiled bathroom and a closet. There were a lot of electric outlets. Remember to bring your adapters. There is internet in the rooms and on the patios.

The grounds and rooms are spectacularly kept and Pascal is wonderful. He always had a recommendation for places to visit(with maps) and assisted with reservations to amazing restaurants! If you come to Provence you must stay at Les Carmes. It is very convenient to southern areas(Arles etc) and to the East(Gordes, Roussillon, Lourmarin). Traditional French breakfast is amazing and as always served with pride and attentiveness by Pascal. Pascal speaks English very well and made us feel at home.

A small quiet market town with not many shops or restaurants...
A small quiet market town with not many shops or restaurants. Easily accessible by road or rail. There are a few tourist attractions in the surrounding area and the first port of call should be the excellent English-speaking (and probably other languages, other than French) Tourist Office situated in the centre of town.

Le Thor is a desolate, sleepy town.
Le Thor is a desolate, sleepy town. It is not a place with anything to do. I did not see one open restaurant and most shops were closed down. The location of Couleur Lavande is excellent though as it is not in Le Thor per se. It is a rural setting and very central to many great places to visit by car-Arles, Avignon, Le Pont du Gard, St. Rémy, lIes de la Sorgue, Rustrel etc.
Pascal is the sweetest host. He greeted us with a full tour, wine, and apple juice for the children. The children were delighted with the life-sized chess board and say this was the best hotel they’ve ever stayed in. We were very comfortable in the family suite, the children had a couch bed that was separated by a door, so it was nice that they had their own space. Breakfast was a delight. Pascal helped us with a dinner reservation at Renaud Metz which we also highly recommend. The staff were wonderful and the food was amazing.
This is the most lovely fairy tale hotel experience ever! Pascal, our host, greeted us and served us each a glass of wine to enjoy on the terrace before giving us a tour and showing us to our room. There was even more delicious wine for all the guests to enjoy and mingle at a complementarry happy hour outdoors. Breakfast was amazing and complementary and included fresh squeezed orange juice and coffee, granola, fresh fruit, bread and a cheese board. Pool is at 28 degrees and is open 24 hours!
Everything was wonderful and the host Pascal had a lot to do with how much we loved staying here. We stayed in the best hotel room of our lives! Pascal's enthusiasm and warm welcoming presence was so awesome! The hotel itself was beautiful, swimming pool and grounds were beautiful. Excellent breakfast and wonderful wine appertif in the evenings. We loved everything about this place and with we could have stayed longer. We felt very well cared for.
Thank you Pascal! From San Francisco!
the staff is so helpful as making a reservation of restaurants and taxi.actually we arrived at the hotel earlier than expected, but she welcomed us with smile. she always bright and warm to my family. that is the best memory of this trip. my kid likes her so much.the room is clean and, you can feel true Provence atmosphere anywhere in this hotel. breakfast outside is awesome! i highly recommend this hotel to travelers who want to feel comfortable in Provence.
I had a lovely time staying at Roseraie De Chateaubois. It is set in a beautiful location, surrounded by roses with a lovely river running alongside. Le Thor and the surrounding areas are also stunning, so many nice places to see, lovely food and wine and just a beautiful part of the world. The accommodation is simple but comfortable and just an authentic French countryside house. Benoit is very kind and interesting and made me feel very welcome.
The hotel was excellent and critical to the success was the incredible energetic personality of the proprietor Poppy and her assistant Gabrielle. An incredible host with more real experience to share than could ever be documented in a review. The evening dinner was excellent and wine pairing to match. With I’sle sur la Sorgue as an adjacent village - what could one ask for more.
Pascal the host was absolutely fantastic , from the welcoming drinks, to the booking of restaurants , to his amazing homemade croissants. My husband broke his leg just before we arrived , and he made sure we had a ground floor room. The hotel itself was charming and quirky, lovely pool, activities and seating areas. Would definitely recommend and would love to return.
The Clos Saint Esteve in Le Thor is a captivating oasis! The hosts' warm hospitality made us feel right at home. The beautifully decorated house was a delight. The amazing garden and pool area were serene, and the homemade breakfast was delightful. A perfect base to explore Provence. Highly recommended!
The hotel is in a wonderful location and is a beautiful example of a real French experience. The food was first class - highly recommend that you book evening there. The owners made us feel most welcome - very warm people. All in all the visit was excellent and we will return.
The hotel had been recently renovated and everything about it was impeccable, clean and attractive. We loved the layout with the swimming pool in the middle and the excellent restaurant on site.
