I really wanted to like Rio Dulce.
I really wanted to like Rio Dulce. It turned out to be only a hub for boat and bus travel for me. Having spent two months in Guatemala by the time I got there, I was not surprised by the poverty or conditions. That said, I didn’t find much other than the castle to be places I wanted to see more of. It was very hot and humid in early July.

The surroundings are the reason for coming. Nature everywhere you look. The jungle at night is special. The staff were great and helped us with any queries or bookings we needed.
