The people are so friendly, always happy to talk with you and help where needed. All the bus drivers were so helpful. Restaurants we visited served good food, friendly staff. Spent our time at World Curling event, met wonderful locals and nice visitors "from away"

Sydney will never be what it was back in the 50 and 60s., with the
Steel Plant, fishing and the closing of the coal mines in the area but
if you have lived here in the past you can still enjoy the scenery.

Dominion beach was the best beach out of the few i went to it was very long to accommodate many people, it had plenty of sand for the little ones, it was quite cold but not much worse than many other bodies of water.
Fortress of louisburg was pretty interesting just be sure to pack your own snacks and drinks as their food and drinks are extremely overpriced, it is chilly to start (on a 21C day) but gets quite warm once walking around and if you can avoid bringing a stroller it will be much easier to get around.
Two rivers wildlife park was a good spot to check out the animals, good luck seeing the moose but worth the trip, the canteen is reasonably priced with a good variety of fried foods to choose from which were very delicious.
Many of the tourist spots are pretty far away so we did not get to tour many places such as fundy bay to see the tides or the cabot trail or lunenberg because it is a lot of driving and we drove to cape breton from southern ontario.
Make sure to keep your plastic bottles because you pay deposits at the grocery stores!
It is a little bit more of an expensive place to travel to but the ocean views, sunsets and the amazing friendliness of the locals makes it worth it all in the end.

Cape Breton is a lovely place but a huge price-gouging tourist trap. Lots of places haven't recovered from COVID so many places were either closed or short-staffed. The weather is getting crazy too.
Booking.com was the biggest pain in the ass. In a number of situations, they were confusing, unhelpful, and useless. Far better to call the motel directly and avoid this European-owned and operated app.

Excellent place to visit, so much to do.
Excellent place to visit, so much to do. We ended up staying at North Sidney at the "Hotel North" Excellent location, very clean rooms, right at the Newfoundland Ferry launch. Excellent restaurant and close to plenty of amenities.
Even though it was closed from 27th June, 2023 due to fire inspection they did not inform about it. It was on 1st July, 2023 when we reached hotel we came to know about it and we had to take another hotel. It costed us a day extra in our trip approximately $450 for 3 couple.
The view from our room was amazing! Nice view of the harbour. The floor was quiet for the night. We were wondering if it would be as there was a group of students but all was well. The beds were very comfortable and I liked that we were given more than two pillows
They had trouble with the water system and had to close the hotel but the staff was very accommodating. The hotel is clean and the rooms are good.
The hotel sits with a oceanview and good parking in the front.
I will go there again forsure.
The Holiday Inn Sydney Waterfront is a great place to stay. The staff are so friendly and happy to help in any way. The location is very well situated for access to restaurants and facilities. I really enjoyed my stay there.
This was easily the best hotel experience of my life. The building is clean and cozy, the location is excellent, and the owner is a delight. I would consider returning to Sydney purely to spend more time at the inn.
The staff at the location is an angel in the making. She is super friendly and super nice. If I have to come back here again soon or a million times, I will still come back to the hotel. It feels like home.
If in Sydney I would definitely stay there again. Would recommend it!!! The only annoying thing. The floors were dusty. Now that I know hotel would like a room in better location
Really helpful staff when I contacted them before arrival and upon arrival at the front desk, and really good breakfast! Everything else was average. Just an older hotel.
