Orio is a lovely little sea side town.
Orio is a lovely little sea side town. Not picturesque as such, the beach is the main draw and the town has shops, bars and restaurants enough to make a stay fun. The locals all seemed very friendly and welcoming. Orio was a small town 20 mins drive from Getaria, which was the town we actually wanted to visit. Orio was unremarkable. Nothing stood out for comment particularly. It was where we could find a hotel for the night in the area.

We were welcomed in the hotel with a smile, our son received a stuffed animal (lovely!) and our dog was very welcome :) the room was nicely decorated (as the rest of the hotel) and we loved the details; our dog got a dog bed, drinking and eating bowls, we could grab a home made sangria and popcorn in the hotel bar. We will definitely come back when traveling from South Spain to the Netherlands. Also, perfectly located next to the motorway. Very convenient for us. Thank you!
