Celebrated our first wedding anniversary here. The staff and food were amazing. Couldn't do enough for us and even upgraded our room! Will definitely be back. Got the impression that the staff loved the hotel as much ads we did. Great Weekend .

We liked the kitchen facilities which allowed us to provide our own breakfasts, eat at table and chairs, and keep food fresh. The owner, Linda, was there to greet us and available if needed.
The bathroom was great, the whole property recently cheerfully decorated, and light and airy, and the large bed really comfortable.
The view from the bedroom window was amazing
The short walk down and up from town was not a problem but good exercise.
Highly recommend

The location was chosen due to our planned visit to Chatsworth and Bakewell. The location was more quiet than expected considering it was main school holiday season. A bonus for us but maybe not business.

The property is actually in the beautiful village of Baslow, which I enjoyed greatly with its old properties, walks and amenities. These included a good bus service which enabled me to get to places like Bakewell - the busy hub of life in rural Derbyshire and about 4 miles away. Nonetheless a very attractive place to explore with old property and the River Wye flowing through.
My answers to Section 4 below relate to Bakewell although my holiday cottage was in Baslow.

Bakewell and the Peak District has been our family’s Happy Place for 15 years! Just love the whole area. Busy village, with plenty of shops and places to eat, a lot selling local produce. A busy market every Monday. As an active family enjoying the outdoors, it is an excellent base to explore the surroundings. Lots of opportunities to walk, hike and cycle. Plenty of historic properties in the area, including the wonderful Chatsworth hall and gardens. Great places to eat, with one of the best Indian restaurants. An amazing part of the country!

There’s a little area for souvenir shopping and buying the famous pies and puddings and several outdoor clothing shops. There’s a co-op and a spar. A few pubs and 2 fish n chip shops. Not much to do in the evening.
Good base for buses to Chatsworth, Matlock, Derby, Sheffield.
Walking distance or short drive to start of the Monsal

A pretty town with plenty of restaurants and eating options available. Plenty of walking opportunities within a few miles from Bakewell, as well as other scenic towns / villages, like Matlock, Buxton and Matlock Bath. Also not too far from the majestic Chatsworth house and estate.
Beautiful cottage, luxuriously decorated but felt very homely. Everything that you could possibly need was provided, together with a lovely welcome pack. Lots of space inside for 4 people and very comfy beds. Cottage is very well situated for exploring the area - 5 mins in the car from Bakewell, 30mins from Matlock, 15mins from Eyam. Would definitely return and will recommend to others - 5* accommodation.
One of our favorite places we’ve stayed at!
Not a grand or particularly luxurious hotel but full of character made even better by the wonderful staff. They went out of their way to make everyones stay a really good one. Food was very good too
The hotel is in an ideal position for the Monsal trail with lots of other walks right on your doorstep. The views are spectacular!
Location is perfect for the trail and exploring bakewell. The staff were wonderfully accommodating and we were impressed with the room. Especially the big bathroom. It’s nice to have a big bathroom when you go away 😀.
The food was freshly prepared and the ingredients were obviously good quality
Great few days at Avenue House. In a very good location, just a short walk to Bakewell town centre, spacious room with excellent shower and comfortable bed. The cooked breakfast was delicious and the owners are very friendly. If in this area in the future we would definitely stay here again.
Good location in the centre of Bakewell. Lovely setting overlooking the gardens. Very peaceful considering the proximity to the road and town centre. Secure parking. Good hospitality tray in room. Spotlessly clean. Nice towels. Friendly and welcoming staff. Good breakfast.
The location was excellent - in the town centre. I liked the included breakfast and the free parking was a huge bonus as Bakewell can get very busy at the weekend. The staff were friendly and helpful and we were always able to get a sunny seat in the beer garden.
Great property in excellent location just across River from Bakewell Town centre.
Nice open plan lower floor, lovely comfy beds and good sound proofing throughout.
Good communication with host and grateful for a slightly later check out on our last day.
We had a spacious room overlooking the terrace garden. The view was wonderful, looking over Bakewell and the surrounding hills.
The small kitchenette was fine for preparing a simple breakfast.
The hotel is a five minute walk from the town centre.
Everything went well. This hotel is superb and by far the best hotel of our entire trip. Compared to the Glass House in Edinburgh which was very expensive - that hotel was terrible. I recommend everyone stay at the Bakewell H hotel
Lovely B&B located a very short stroll from the center of Bakewell. The room was very comfortable and well appointed. There is a nice choice of breakfast available and the young woman who served us was helpful and very pleasant.
Fantastic breakfast, super friendly and helpful staff. Great location close to the center of Bakewell. Free parking. Rooms were clean and comfortable adjacent to the pub. All amenities within a few minutes walk of the pub.
Beautiful traditional terraced cottage located on the edge of Bakewell., in a quite location and backing onto open fields; yet only a short 10min walk away from all the bustle of the town centre.
Wonderful hosts.
A comfortable and pleasant hotel in the centre of Bakewell and the Peak District. The rooms are well appointed and comfortable and the full English breakfast was very good.
Property was excellent, very clean and well taken care of. So close to everything in the quaint town of Bakewell. We are very glad that we made it a stop on our journey.
This is a small and friendly boutique hotel, located in the centre of Bakewell. It served us well, in terms of comfort and reaching all of the tourist attractions.
Fabulous cosy property in the heart of Bakewell. Walking distance to the town centre. Amazing breakfast at The Original Bakewell Pudding shop included!
