A Grimm Fairytale
Although known for the Nuremberg Trials, this Bavarian city has a stunning medieval core of cobbled streets and half-timbered buildings that wouldn’t look out of place in a fairytale. Sitting above this is the castle, one of the most important in the Holy Roman Empire. Take the steep walk up here for fantastic old town views.
Hauptmarkt square in the old town is home to an unusual-looking church and a Gothic fountain, spectacularly lit during the annual Nuremberg Christmas markets. Selling everything from wooden toys to lebkuchen (gingerbread), these are widely considered the best Christmas markets in Germany.
Other attractions in Nuremberg (Nürnberg in German) include the Germanisches Nationalmuseum, the country’s largest museum of culture and art. Another highlight is the Heilig-Geist-Spital, a medieval hospital by the Pegnitz River.
A word must also be said about its relationship with Nazism. On the south-east corner are the immense Nazi Rally Grounds and Party Congress Hall, built in appropriately domineering fashion. The excellent Documentation Centre here is a sensitive and unbiased portrayal of life under Hitler. It is also possible to visit the courtroom where the war trials were held.
Before leaving your Booking.com apartment, hotel or hostel to go to Nuremberg Airport, don’t forget to try the spicy local sausage!

A very beautiful city with excellent options for everyone: long walks in the parks or on the river banks and beautiful bridges; historic sites, castle and interesting museums; beautiful streets and wonderful traditional houses; monuments and statues; nice shopping streets with low and high end shops and brands; lively restaurants and terraces with great food options. It really has everything you could want for a great holiday . Do not miss the castle, Dürer house, Germanisches nationalmuseum, Fembohaus. Nuremberg is a fantastic city with museums, churches and history. The Old town of Nuremberg is it´s heart and soul. An excellent place to walk and explore with fantastic shopping opportunities for all people. Nuremberg also has great restaurants. I also love Konigstrasse with all the boutique shops and vegtable market stalls selling fresh fruits and vegetables. Don´t miss the bratwurst restaurants near to the Tourist office at the end of Königstrasse.MelvinGermany - 10Scored 10
I went to Nuremberg to research the National Archives.
I went to Nuremberg to research the National Archives. This went well leaving time to accompany my wife doing some tourism. The city is delightful and the people are very friendly. The only tourists we saw were of the more intellgent selective type. The town has much of its mediaeval buildings with very careful rebuilding in the 1950's. We ate very well in several restaurants. Fantastic street markets and museums. The Castle (Burg) is well worth a visit as is the National Museum.

It’s spotless, charming, comfortable, staffed by the nicest people and about half the price of everything else nearby. The only negative was that my room was not air conditioned, but that’s rarely a problem in Nurnberg. During the daytime, the room was still comfortably cool and nights with the windows open were Heaven. There was little traffic or noise from the street just below.

We liked the modern look of the place. Also the reception area was very welcoming. The staff were exceptionally helpful and friendly. We slept comfortably at night, because the room was quiet. We'll definitely book a room there next time we are in Nuremberg.
