If you are searching for an authentic ,relaxing place, far from the busy life and reasonable price ,that's it. The rooms are very clean, big and comfortable. Breakfast in the room was fantastic. The village is 40 minutes from Amalfi with car, bus station is 150 meters also. Many restaurants around. Vincentzo was such a great host, always with smile and ready to help us. Great hospitality. Thank you ❤️

If you are expecting a quiet mountain village look elsewhere.
Of course it is not as crowded as Amalfi an Positano, but it still has a lot of traffic going through.
The streets are very narrow and there is virtually no pedestrian infrastructure.

A quite but beautiful quaint town high up the mountain from Amalfi. Sonia was so wonderful along with her family, making us feel right at home. We added two more days because we loved it so much and didn’t want to leave. She helped us with places to see and our iternary for the path of gods. Thank you so much for all your kindness and the great memories we will cherish forever. A super hostess!

It is a small town on the hills of Amalfi, one hour away from any beach city. The people are very friendly, it is a quite small town with cozy restaurants and great food, more suitable for a silent rest than the beach resorts.

The location very nice, like in the mountains.
The location very nice, like in the mountains. A good location to visit Amalfi coast, although not straight on the shore. Around 1.5h drive to Positano, quite similar times to Amalfi and Ravello, +\- 10 mins. Be prepare to mostly eat pizza, not many restaurants in Agerola and mostly well rated are Pizzerias.
Mamaral is located in a very nice town of Agerola. the place is clean, and peaceful. the weather is cooler compared to Amalfi and most of all— the local people are friendly. Bus stop is 8 min walk (Bomerano) also Bomerano is the starting point to the path of the gods.. a 9Km hike to Positano! Took us 3.5 hour hike! The restaurant nearby is the best food we ate during our trip in Italy! Laura is the receptionist— friendly, approachable and provides great information about the area, great dining and so much more.
A new facility less than 2 years since it was built. Everything is clean and beautiful. Breakfast was very good, and the outside garden seating delightful with a lovely sea view at a distance. This is wonderful getaway for quiet relaxation, however, it is far from Amalfi. A 30 to 50 minute bus ride (depending on the traffic). The hotel is located away from the city in the midst of small agricultural properties and gardens. The hotel provides free transportation to/from the bus stop and scheduled intervals.
We hike along the Amalfi coast on foot. On this day our route was Ravello - Atrani - Amalfi - Agerola San Lazzaro - Agerola Bomerano. There we stayed at Maddalena’s place. She is a very friendly and welcoming host. We loved her place. You can see that she put a lot of effort in decorating the rooms and they are also very comfortable. The breakfast was amazing which a lot of options to choose from - sweet and savory. This place is a great choice if you are planning to do the path of gods like we did.
View was absolutely gorgeous. Tucked away up in the hills but still with a breathtaking view of the countryside and the bay of Naples with good proximity to the amalfi coast (about a 35-40min drive but would suggest the amazing hike called path of the gods which goes all the way to Positano and the trail head is only a 10 minute drive from the hotel). Staff is kind and location so very quiet and clean and an amazing value. Truly a gem of a place.
The hostess was very friendly! We had a lovely stay.San Lazzaro is a great place if you want to visit the Amalfi Coast without spending a lot of money. The room was clean decorated with Italian style.Breakfast was also really nice. The hotel has really nice view to the sea as well and a very beautiful garden.I would highly recommend it.
It has more of that at home feel than a normal hotel does, and it's off the beaten path. So if you need a break from the downtown, cars ripping by every 2 Seconds, police sirens annoying you lifestyle then this is it. It's peaceful. The staff is great, and there is plenty of room. We had 5 people and everyone had their own bed.
Awesome breakfast. especially the fresh ricotta. Indoors or on the terrace outside.
Views of the sea and surrounding mountains and village
Gracious and professional staff is the best I have encountered on my many trips to Italy
Bus stop to Amalfi across from the hotel
Restaurants within walking distance
Hotel Gentile is in the main square of Agerola. if you are doing the Path of the Gods walk it starts outside the hotel so perfect location .
has a good restaurant and Mario the owner is very friendly and helpful
nice rooms , good breakfast and good price
I will be back another time
Really friendly hotel with a very nice communal atmosphere. The breakfast was very good, I especially enjoyed the pancakes with home made jam. There was always something happening and plenty of other very friendly people to spend time with. Would definitely return for a second visit.
I would like to thank Roberto again for his great hospitality with kindness. He gave us very useful tips for our trip. The hotel was very clean, the breakfast was so unique and the location was great. I highly recommend here everyone whose wants to stay in amalfi area!
Until today I have never been so well received in a hotel. Massimo is kind and attentive to these customers. I recommend without any hesitation for someone who wants to have a pleasant trip. Also, the view from the room and villa is amazing
Host Luigi and son was super hospitable and treated us like family! location convenient for path of the gods (Luigi dropped us off at the trailhead) hike and short drives to amalfi coast. Agerola better and quieter than Positano and Amalfi.
Beautiful place, incredible shower! Best part was Sebastiano, he took such good care of us. He was incredible at communicating how to get to the hotel and helped us arrange a taxi to get to our next accommodation when my partner was ill.
Such a lovely place to stay in,the beds were soooo comfortable.it's a brand new hotel the rooms were very very clean, the shower was amazing. The host maybe on of the best i've met. Very caring and helpful. highly recommended.
Very friendly and helpful staff. Price was rather low for the area and the season. Comfortable bed. A lot of hiking opportunities like the path of gods, Monte Tre Calli or Monte Molare starting directly from the hotel.
I liked absolutely everything. Thanks to the hospitable hotel owner Balthazar! Beautiful view, cozy rooms! Everything is very clean. The hotel has recently been renovated - and you can feel it. Everything smells fresh
It’s a pretty property in Agerola, easy to get to if your taxi driver is up for it, cause it’s up on a hill. The breakfast deli, the staff so attentive! The room so comfortable, the bathroom so clean and great size!
They were renovating during our stay, so everything was a bit different. But the hotel manager did everything to make us comfortable and was very helpfull and friendly.
