Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

BelgiumWe do not have any complaints about the hotel. The only small inconvenience we have encountered is that the breakfast buffet had only one coffee/tea pot which sometimes resulted into a waiting queue in the morning.
The hotel is in great location to visit the touristic highlights like Hagia Sophia or the Cisterna Basilica by foot. The breakfast is served on the roof deck with view on the blue Mosque. The breakfast itself had a nice selection. Our room was clean and had a good size. The staff helps to book event tickets and gives recommendations to avoid scam shop/restaurants.

NetherlandsBreakfast was 😢, but don't worry! The poor breakfast does not outweigh the location and the staff nothing is 100% perfect. Next time if i will be back. What was disappointing was that I was too busy and didn't take any pictures. It's strange when everything is good we don't take any photos, but when something is disappointing we immediately take a photo. 🤣😂
Kamers schoon, front desk mr Faruk! Ask for him! He and his 2 men colleagues are the Best! Mr Faruk knows "almost" everything. I was dreading going to another hotel. Bed was too good to be true. Just like a "nice" woman, this hotel is a 6 on the outside but a 9.3 on the inside. (These guys know where the qibla is! That's a good thing!

GermanyAll great!
Everything was perfect! Service, rooms, breakfast, location just 10/10! I honestly don’t get some of the negative reviews. Just a tip: book the airport shuttle with them, they provide punctual, clean vans that are the same price of a taxi.

SwitzerlandBeing in the Old town, things are a bit tighter and our room was looking onto the air con unit of the neighboring restaurant (noisy for people who sleep with open windows).
Very centrally located, close to several tourist attractions - very friendly staff - clean - nice roof top terrace. Staff was generous with supplying us bottled water.

NetherlandsHad a bit of an issue with the cleaning staff that left the windows of the room wide open after making the room.
Perfect location close to the Blue Mosque, Aya Sophia Mosque and the tram that connects the city. Tasty and abundant breakfast with a view on the city. Absolutely loved the shower which felt very luxurious.

United KingdomLocation of hotel was so central, very close to all the historical sites (5 mins walk) and also the Sultanahmet metro (2 min walk). The room was really quiet as the hotel is on one of the side lanes. The breakfast has adequate selection of hot and cold food and served up on the rooftop which is nice.

IrelandAs I said, I would not have been happy with the first room, so ask for a room with a front view.
We didn't like the first room we were given (back of the hotel, no view, very small and very basic.) I asked for something better and we were moved across the hall to a very nice room in the front of the hotel with a beautiful view. The shower was great. Beds very comfortable too. The staff were very friendly and very helpful. The location was excellent. The breakfast was nice too - up on the roof top with lovely distant views.

CanadaI am highly sensitive to perfumes and similar smells, and this hotel had a machine in the hallway that produced a strong floral air freshener smell around the clock. I wouldn't normally mess with things but I ended up unplugging the machine as it was actually making me quite sick and gave me a migraine. If these types of smells don't bother you, it shouldn't be a problem, but be aware if you are sensitive to such things.
Good location to easily walk to and access all main touristy sites, restaurants and shopping. Off the main areas so it was quieter but as for all locations near a mosque or two, you will most likely hear the call to prayer early in the morning. Good breakfast, large rooms.

United KingdomYou had to pay extra for a latte or cappuccino and omlettes at breakfast. They did have normal tea, coffee, boiled, and scrambled eggs available free of charge.
The location was perfect, with lots of main attractions on the doorstep. The staff were super helpful and even let us use their city card to get around using boats and trams.
