I was disappointed by the lack of a balcony. Also the walled-in patio was uninviting with inadequate furniture. The lighting was cold and sterile, and our bedroom shutters had to stay closed because of the busy snack bar terrace next to us.

The property's location, situated on the corner of a square in the heart of town, couldn't have been better. It was just a 5-minute taxi to the airport, and everything was within walking distance, including nature trails. The bed and bedroom were excellent, and despite being in a busy part of town, the noise insulation was top-notch, ensuring a great sleep. The kitchen was good, and we especially loved the Nespresso machine. The addition of Tupperware was a nice touch for lunch on the go. The host was accommodating and flexible.

Perfect stay in the city center of Machico. Jacqueline was available and reactive to our messages especially when we had to add a night because of flight issues. The flat is well furnished with new equipments and there is a shared laundry and patio. All restaurants and activities are within 3mn walk Thanks

All was fine. One small minor is the fact that the restaurant at groundfloor is giving some noise when cleaning up after closing hours. The (japanese food) restaurant below is of excellent quality however!!

The bedroom I used overlooked one of the streets and there were people talking outside the window late at night. Not something that the hosts can control but soundproof windows would be good

There was a construction side near by, so it was a little noisy and the concert near by one evening was quite loud. But no issue with the appartment itself.

In the center of Machico, very nice place to stay. We parked the car at the gas station near by, just a short walk (uphill) but well, you‘re in Madeira. The kitchen had all the stuff you need and more (boxes to store and take food with you on a trip, our coffee got filled up…). Really nice and uncomplicated stay - we enjoyed it very much!

The property was very nice, with comfortable furniture and a lot of space. In reality it looks much better than on the pictures. The are is very silent and its just surrounded with a lot of restaurants. And the sea is just a 5 minutes walk. We loved to stay there and the staff were super friendly.

A super location for us, very close to the beach but also easy access to walks and hills. Apartment was in good order and very comfortable. Jackie was a super host making sure we were happy and even prepared a valentines surprise for us. We will definitely return next year

Perhaps some towel racks could be added in the bathroom. As it is, with just a couple of hooks, the towels can’t really dry.

We had a great time at Fort Bay Apartments. The building has been renovated recently and everything is modern and perfectly clean. The location could not be more convenient: in the heart of Machico, one block from the sea, and a few minutes from the bus station. Our apartment on the top floor was well appointed and organized. In the lovely sunny bedroom there was a quirky corner balcony with a sea view beyond the fort. Machico is a charming town and an excellent base to explore the north coast of Madeira and Ponta de São Lourenço. And after a hike you can relax on the golden sand of Machico beach!

The location is perfect, right in the centre, with great restaurants literally opposite the front door. The views are lovely. It’s very modern and clean. It was a perfect base for hiking and trail running in the area and also great in a rainy day to stay in town or in the apartment, cook for ourselves and watch films…

Nothing! Everything was great.

This is the best place we have stayed at during our trip to Madeira. The apartment was all modern, clean and in the very centre of cute Machico - only a few steps from good restaurants, the boardwalk and the beach. The quiet terrace was great for breakfast (which you can grab at one of the bakeries around the apartment). We cannot recommend this enough!
