Make sure you check in online before you arrive - otherwise it is a bit of a faff.

1 toilet paper for 2 people, 3 nights. We had to drive to the supermarket to buy more (there's only tourist shops in Obidos). This is lazy of the company, without a car the walk to the shop is 30 minutes. A bit hard to find. It's just off the main thoroughfare but you must go to the back door. We tried to phone but it is managed by a centralised company & got no answer. To be aware, the shop opposite plays quite loud music during the day (not at night). In April it was a ghost town at night - residents seem to have been replaced with holiday lets (the irony is not lost!)

The 2 bed holiday home is beautiful. Old features. Very central location, we enjoyed watching the tourists walk below. We had a relaxing stay. Comfortable bed, though no fan / AC so a bit hot. Well equipped kitchen (no oil / salt though). Other rooms are upstairs but guests were quiet after 11pm. There is a large free car park just outside the walls.

The kitchen was on the premises but we didn’t feel slll that welcome although we did sit and have coffee one morning. Probably don’t like the metal stairs when carrying heavy luggage, otherwise a great place to stay. I couldn’t find even a mini mart in town to buy fruit or snacks in so walked out of town (about 1km) to the big supermarket just past the petrol station. Staff were friendly and helped me buy sunscreen and a few snacks, plus a small milk for our coffee and tea.

Great location, just up from Main Street as you enter through the front portal towards the castle. Easy to get in with codes; take care on stairs if it’s wet as they are a little narrow when coming up to the door of the room we stayed in. The town is friendly. The bakery up towards the castle is great. Good for breakfast or a de nata and coffee.

The building is very old, and though pretty, I was cold. Couldn't figure out the heating. I'd have been happier with an extra blanket, but even before bed I was quite chilly. Someone should show how to work the heating.

Nice size modern room and a wonderful shower. There were cooking facilities in the room and a fridge, which I didn't expect. Super clean throughout. Great location, off the beaten track and quiet but still central.

Wonderful historic experience.

Great location. Arrived in Obidos in the early evening. Asked directions at Memoria Cafe and Wine Bar on the main street. Very friendly and helpful. Later had a marvelous dinner there. We walked the street in the evening under the village lights. Truly a magical evening. Staying in the historic Inn in Obidos was wonderful.

The only recommendation that I'd make is that the shower holder was broken and you had to be holding the shower head to have a shower. Rather than that, everything was fantastic 😊

A few days prior we were contacted to say the apartment we'd booked had a maintenance issue - they offered an alternative which was outside the Medieval walls and had no character. First they said it had parking, then disclosed that it was just street parking by chance. Eventually, they gave us the option of the room we stayed in, which was in the same complex as the one we'd booked and paid for (charged same price), but it was much smaller. Of course, we found the apartment we'd initially booked was occupied, so no maintenance issue...just double booked. So watch out for this! The BIG problem with this apartment was the mould - the air was absolutely thick with it. There is a little air purifier but it didn't seem to be working. My daughter who was with me is an Atmospheric Scientist and she was quite concerned about the damp and mould spore levels. Anyone with respiratory issues should not stay here. To be fair, it's a difficult situation the owners are in - many of the old buildings in Obidos smelt similar, and being World Heritage listed, they can't exactly dig up walls and floors to add modern drainage and ventilation. But they should ensure the air purifier is working, maintained and on 24/7 because otherwise it's an absolutely beautiful place to stay. Parking in main car park just outside walls.

The room is super cute, and you have access to shared lounge, entrance hall, big kitchen and patio which are fabulous in their antiquity and are so higgledy-piggledy. The kitchen is in keeping with the authenticity of the town but well equipped. The lounge is comfortable and the patio is vine covered and was a lovely place to sit for breakfast or in the evening with a wine. There's a lovely view of the cobblestoned lane and bougainvillea vines from the windows. It's just off the main street in its own little lane, so it's super quiet whilst being absolutely slap bang in the centre of the town. There's a key safe system for access.

The door of my apartment open directly to the street. I had preferred other one, in de the internal part of the historical building. Besides this, the apartment have just a small window, the ventilation could be better, like other rooms.

The apartment location is excellent, inside of the walls. The furniture that the guests have access are enough to do any complementary food. And the garden inside the property is very nice.

The step into the bedroom what is a bit of a challenge to get used to. We made a few missteps and felt lucky we hadn’t hurt ourselves. But we learn quickly. There is very little space between the toilet in the wall in front of it, making it somewhat of a challenge to use.

Within the walls of the town. Quiet and off the main tourist street. The kitchen was equipped with enough to do some cooking if you wished. Which we did. Very clean.
