Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomCould have done with another easy chair in the room.
The location is fabulous, and surprisingly quiet at night. The breakfast is really lovely with fresh fruit, croissants, ham, cheese, plus fresh orange juice and coffee. The room was big and spacious. The shower was excellent. The aircon worked and was quiet.

ChinaIt is very well located in the well-known Augusta Street with only 1min walking to the elevator and 2min walking to the sea, which we really loved a lot. The rooftop is a good place to enjoy breakfast and morning sunshine to start a lovely day. Staff there are all friendly and helpful. We spent 3 nights there and everything is perfect.

GermanyThis place is not for people with moving disability. Breakfast was served to room, if requested, and the hotel has a lift. But there are few (four?) steps to reach the lift. Also the terrace can be reached only by claiming stairs. This was not a concern to us, but it may be for someone, so adding it in here. I personally didn't like the location so much. it is in very touristic area with restaurant terraces hiking most of the street, while I might have liked more something in Lisbon old city on adjacent hills. For my wife this location was perfect, because there were no hills to clime to get to the hotel.
Terrace for breakfast was very nice and quiet, though only in good weather. It was something different than in so many other hotels. Stuff was really friendly and helpful. This is what we hear in almost all the places, but in this hotel the stuff was more friendly than we have experienced anywhere else. Really exceptional. Room was quiet, we liked that. No view (none!), but we didn't expect any.

Czech RepublicThe staff wasn’t too diligent, we found out the night when we arrived that there was no toilet paper in the bathroom. In the morning we called to the reception and were told to wait as there was no other staff to bring it. No sorry whatsoever. I didn’t like that there were the single-use miniatures of shower gels that were supplemented repeatedly, rather that having the refillable bottles. There could’ve been a better selection at the breakfast, or at least some more veggies.
Perfect central location on the main street, but wasn’t too noisy, easily accessible. Nice, even though smaller rooms, comfy beds. Beautiful view from the breakfast terrace.

CanadaRooftop breakfast was nice, but staff should move tables inside when it starts to rain. Also, trays were too big to fit at table and allow two people to eat…smaller trays would be better.

CanadaHonestly we liked everything about it. Especially the staff - so helpful, friendly and cheerful.
Breakfast was great, with fruit, yoghurt, cereal, coffee, varied carbs each day -bread for toast , croissants , loaf, waffles, boiled eggs, freshly squeezed orange juice....wow! Location perfect for tourists - for exploring neighborhoods, accessing trains, Tram 28 . And tons of restaurants on many streets around. Room had everything -comfy bed and pillows and good sound -proofing.

United KingdomNothing really. Not the fault of the hotel, but we arrived on the Metro - many stations don't have escalators or lifts (!); however we enjoyed the travel experience.
Good central location with river an easy walk, view-points close by, and restaurants literally down the street. Breakfast on, or adjacent to, the roof terrace was special.

Excellent location right at the heart of the city. Rossio metro and train stations are just 2-3 minutes of a walk. Room and the bed was excellent. Lot of restaurants around the place. Staff was super friendly, and breakfast was good. View from the room right on to the roads with balcony.

United States of AmericaThere should be no smoking on the roof while people are eating breakfast. There was not seating indoors so we ate outside while eating someone came outside to smoke.
Perfect location right in the heart of the city! Surprisingly quiet. The staff was very helpful and friendly. Our room was comfortable. The breakfast was nice. You could have breakfast in your room if wanted to. I would recommend Augusta Boutique House when staying in Lisbon.

United KingdomThe toilet didn’t always flush. I think that’s down to older built building and their plumbing though. Give it 5 minutes and it would work fine.
