Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomIf you opt for an option to go green for the environment when checking in, this means that not only your towels will not be changed and room will not be cleaned, which is absolutely fine if you are there just for a couple of days, but also your bins will not be emptied during these days and no toilet paper supply will be provided. So a way to save on the cost of this service for the hotel, which given the price of the room, should take place. Also, it’s not very clear how emptying the bin and providing toilet paper can help save the planet and be greener if the amount of rubbish is the same and it’s just a question of whether you empty it every day or don’t empty it.
Fabulous hotel, close to the city centre, rooms are spacious and modern.

AustriaA bit far from the city center. Not quite well sound proof.
It’s well designed. Quite close to metro station given that the property is far from the city center. Staff are nice. Comfortable bed.

ItalyI followed the request to give up on the daily cleaning to save on cleaning products and protect the environment but... that was a mistake. Nobody even make the bed or changed the used towels (which may happen, after 3 days and 2 showers per day) - and my withdrawal came at no discount or other benefit... I think I won't do it again, next time :)
Ruby Emma is my place when I come to Amsterdam to work. The structure is still very new, clean, aesthetically pleasing. Honorable mention to the staff, always smiling, quick and available to help. See you next year :)

GermanyThe rain shower was amazing. However the shower always overflowed a bit and we had to put a towel in front of the shower. There is no room service.
We stayed in the 10th floor in a corner room and we had a breathtaking view. The staff was really nice and helpful. The hotel is easy to reach with public transportation. Within 10 Minutes you can be in the city center

United KingdomBuilding technology didn't work as expected a lot of the time (AC/lights etc). The lifts in particular kept breaking. Lifts during busy book in periods became a massive bottleneck - it was better to go away and come back later than queue.
Well connected location but still outside major tourist areas. Nice rooms. Lovely staff.

FranceBreakfast was ok. Nothing hot (no scrambled eggs, bacon, sausages or pancakes). Coffee was awful. Depending on the price, really worth it (it goes from 90€ to 200€ for the same bedroom according to the moment of the week, as per usual with yield management). For 90€ it’s exceptionnally good. For a 160€ which is what I paid, it’s good++ but could benefit from a better breakfast.
Great hotel, comfy/cosy and nice design. Loved the bedroom. Comfy bed and pillows, nice bathroom. Nothing to say!

FinlandElevators are a bit too ”high tech” and slow (to summon). Just plain old buttons by the elevators would’ve been much better and simpler. Seen quite a few guests struggling as well. If it takes someone on the staff (or other guests) to explain how elevators work, to each guest separately… maybe it’s not the most intuitive solution ;)
- Near the metro, can get to the city center in about 15 minutes - Modern clean room with some luxury elements - What you see in the pictures is what you get

United KingdomThe hotel is very expensive. The location could have been better for the price (around 20-mins combined for the metro and walk to attractions).
The room was very clean and comfortable. It had great views and was very modern. The staff were helpful and the hotel is an easy 10 minute metro ride away from Amsterdam Centraal.

United StatesNeighborhood is relatively quiet with nothing much to do. No walking distance restaurants and the only option was a small bakery and McDonalds. Room was dusty and didn't look well kept. Stains in the cupboards that looked like mold? Coach and coffee table were dirty and battered. At 300 euro a night, we were hoping the furniture would be better.
Beautiful hotel with floor to ceiling windows and a beautiful view of Amsterdam. We stayed in one of the Resident Room (largest suites available). Staff was very friendly and helpful in identifying places to go, eat, and visit. Shout-out to Celeste at the reception for her immaculate service! Love the bathroom interior and layout of the room. It was on a corner on the 17th floor so we were able to see views for miles. Very easy trains 5min walk from the hotel to central station. There are 4 trains at this stations so you literally don't have to wait longer than 5mins each time. The check-out was super simple and efficient!
