How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Enjoyed everything about this accomodation - the location, the place itself and especially all the nice touches provided by the hosts (fresh fruit, coffee, tea, milk and even a bottle of wine!). The place was very clean, had everything you might need for a short (or even long) stay and all the information and advice you might need was provided in a very detailed information sheet (e.g. where to find utensils or that it might take a while for hot water to come). Found it very helpful. Overall, felt like staying at some relatives’ place where they really care about you. Would definitely come back and recommend it to others!

It would have been nice to have a small bedside light and cabinet on BOTH sides of the bed, not just one side - there is just room. The bed was a bit small for tall people like us. The patio area was in the sun but would be nicer if the shed wasn't there as it was very small. Also, a small table by the settee would be good to put a drink on whilst watching TV. A few small improvements like this would make it even better and perhaps people would stay longer.
Location was perfect for us - close to attractive village, sea and harbour. Family lived close by and a supermarket was close. Didn't use the car at all during our visit. Our hosts were very helpful when approached, but not intrusive.

A cosy apartment with everything that you would need for a short break. The hosts Alan and Teresa were kind and hospitable. I especially appreciated the fresh coffee!

It is only a very minor , but I noticed that the shower head only seemed to spray out half the amount of water. As said I was still able to shower but felt that the amount of water coming out from the head could have been more.
The location was ideal for my situation.

The sink is slightly on the small side for washing some of the plates - only a minor improvement on an otherwise really lovely place!
The property is in a beautiful village and not far from a local supermarket and within easy reach of public transport. The property felt safe and secure; it had been cleaned and prepared well; and the host even left wine, milk, coffee and tea for us in the kitchen, as well as shower gel in the bathroom. The communication upfront and in the property was good and we had a lovely time!

The whole place had everything we needed plus extra. We felt so at home from home. The process was easy eg. Getting keys ect. We felt safe and bed was extremely comfortable :)

There was only a duvet on the bed and with the hot weather it was either too hot or cold. At 3 am we took the duvet out and used the cover. The bed was a bit small and no side table/lamp on one side
Charming setting. The host went to some trouble, leaving some fruit, milk, chocolates and a lovely bottle of wine.

The only thing I would suggest it needs is a bit more work space if you decide to eat alot at the annex.
Lot to like about one bedroom annex nice court yard which is a good sun spot also.

The sink has no overflow and is too tiny for easy washing up - it looks nice though! We could have done with a thinner duvet as we both found it too hot at night.
Beautiful village near the water as well as other facilities. Everything was thought of! in this lovely property. A gem of a place in a great location.
