Amazing property, with beautiful views from every window. The room was spotless and the communal lounge/dinning area was stylish yet cosy with a well stocked bar! Chris and Carla were lovely hosts going above and beyond to assist every guest. Both the dinner and breakfast was the best food that we had across the whole of our trip. An unforgettable stay!

Loved every little thing about this wonderful place - the owners, their amazing welcome, their incredibly delicious food, and their beautiful rooms. Just stunning. World-class in one of the most remote places in Scotland - can't recommend highly enough. So glad we went in January too - such a special place to stay! Unforgettable.

It was beautiful, tastefully decorated and spotlessly clean. The hosts made us feel very welcome and both the breakfasts and evening meal were freshly cooked and delicious. There is a comfortable lounge area with tea and coffee making facilities and an honesty bar, and it was lovely to relax there after dinner.

It’s an oasis in South Uist and feels like a five star hotel. The owners make you feel at home, everything is fresh and immaculate with decor of a high order. An excellent experience, overall.

We had a great overnight stay here at the end of our time on the Uists. It definitely could have been longer. Really great accommodation, everything is very clean. The hosts run the accommodation with a lot of passion, attention to detail and hospitality. Be sure to make a reservation for dinner, Chris is a great cook.

We had a bad time with ferry links and weather so didn’t get to enjoy our stay as much as we would have liked. Our hosts were amazing though and even gave us a lift to an alternative ferry route.

Carla and Chris are amazing hosts. Attentive but not overbearing. They have put so much into making this such a beautiful guest house and are clearly passionate about what they do.

    Nothing.

Everything. I’ve stayed in a lot of expensive hotels that weren’t anywhere near as good as the Grianaig. Lovely bedroom and bathroom and intimate dining and bar area. Spotlessly clean and immaculately maintained.

There is nothing not to like about the Grainaig Guest House. It is home from home and we would highly recommend it.

Warm welcoming hosts - thank you Carla and Chris. Quirky decor and immaculately clean. Dinner was first class as Chris was a professional chef at several well-known restaurants. Dinner is cooked freshly to order within view. Breakfast also delicious.

Nothing, this property is a role model for bed and breakfast at its very, very best.

A stunning property. We stayed in one of larger bedrooms and it was huge. We had a peek into one of the smaller bedrooms and they were still plenty big enough. The entire property is modern, beautifully decorated with very high quality finishes. Every detail has clearly been thought through, we wanted for nothing. The bed was huge and very, very comfortable. The internet worked very well. The lounge was lovely with excellent tea and coffee facilities, hot chocolate as well. A good range of alcoholic drinks were available for purchase. The included breakfast was excellent with four choices covering all tastes, light, vegetarian, hearty, etc. We had the additional dinner offered for purchase both nights of our stay and it was outstanding, again with four choices to cover all requirements. Chris is an outstanding chef. The hosts were exceptionally friendly and helpful, the property gave us all the privacy we desired, but it was also nice to chat to other guests at times in the lounge, a perfect balance. We visited Barra and Vatersay for the day, the ferry times work out very well, and the property is well situated to enjoy the Uists, or to travel onwards to Harris and Lewis which we did. This is hospitality at its best.

I did not like having to leave. The place was perfect.

We were using The Grianaig as a stopover after arriving on the ferry from the mainland, but in fact, it is a destination itself. Chris and Carla were wonderful. The home is cozy, modern, immaculately clean, and the beds were so comfortable that we didn't want to get up, but the smell of homemade bread coming from the kitchen took care of that. Chris is an accomplished chef, and his dinner was one of the best of our trip. They brought their experience of operating a restaurant in Cornwall to a charming house on the edge of the world, and their surprised guests are the beneficaries, Oh, and you'll leave your outdoor shoes in the foyer. No mud or sheep poo in these bedrooms!

There was absolutely nothing I didn't like about Grianaig Guest House - it was perfect!

Grianaig Guest House was the perfect place to stay on our trip to the Outer Hebrides. Carla and Chris were so friendly and welcoming and went out their way to accommodate our food choices and recommend places to visit. Our room was spotless and had everything you would need with loads of storage space, great views and beautifully decorated in a modern style. I can't recommend this highly enough and can't wait to return!
