A great place on the outskirts of Lynmouth and Lynton. We had the twin room, which is a twin double. The room was clean, spacious with adequate storage, including a dressing table, excellent quality condiments, great bedding with a view towards lynmouth and lynton. The bathroom has everything you'll need, and is clean and appears recently renovated. Great choice of drinks at the bar, and catered well to dogs. The breakfast and evening meal of which we ate on both day and nights were excellent quality. The soda bread with garlic and rosemary butter is a must if you love garlic. Hake was tasty as was the burger. The staff were great, every member we came across. We will definitely be back.

The women staff were sometimes rude. Some dogs were barking loudly in the restaurant which made me jump all the time and anxious. Not good for a break. The entrance has a smell I didn't like. It's as if they keep the dogs they welcome there all the time. Could do with some clean carpet and freshen up at the entrance. In the bathroom, in-between the tiles needs cleaning. It has mould. The king room had two beds put together, so I couldn't sleep near my partner as it had the middle bit very uncomfortable.

I loved their chicken balls as a starter. The gentleman we met when we went in earlier was lovely. Unfortunately we didn't ask his name. And we didn't see him again but saw him drive out in a 4×4. So he might know who he is if he sees the review. Bed, pillow and duvet was soft and comfy. Just two beds put together was uncomfortable in the middle part if there's two of you in it. Nice and quiet. Staff gave lots of information about what to do in the town

Arrived from north Wales about 10am and met Joan at the desk and was told quite bluntly check in was at 3pm due to the fact they only have one house keeper and 10 rooms to clean and nobody wants to work! No offer to store luggage while we waited for the room. We had a Sunday lunch reservation booked back in January for 1pm by Jake the manager and this had not been entered in the computer, was told by Joan we could have a noon reservation but we would have to been done by 1pm because of bookings. There was three meat choices for the roast dinner Beef, Lamb or Pork I decided on the Lamb and when it arrived presentation was very nice BUT the Lamb was STONE COLD and to be honest looked and tasted like Pork. The only saving grace was our server ALI who is a great server and a credit to the Inn. To some it up this a chain hotel who owns over a 150 compared to a one off where your treated like family and they are excited to have you as a guest.

Location was fantastic, located on the hill top 850' above the sea, car parking was very handy opposite the inn. Room was clean nice size and furniture was a nice size for the room, linen both bedding nice thread count and towels big and fluffy. We arrived on a Sunday and had Sunday roast for lunch and fish and chips for dinner. A Saxon church is located about 200' from the inn and has grave markers dating back to 1664, the town of Lynmouth is down a very steep hill (12%) with a great history and views.

There were dog hairs in quite a few places in the room, the coffee cups and glasses were collecting dust and dog hair. The windows were blown and condensation was seeping though meaning that the blind was damp and mouldy looking. The pillows were very uncomfortable and the room got so hot at night that it was waking us up. Also the rooms throughout the hotel had slam shut doors which seemed to be slamming throughout the night. We also had the pleasure of listening to some staff telling stories and complaining about other guests very openly knowing that customers were around.

The location was perfect, food was fantastic, especially their gluten free options, the staff were super friendly and attentive.

The food was good, but not excellent, and the menu wasn't quite to our preference, but it was by no means bad, just not excellent.

Loved the room, and it's a beautiful old building. Lady in reception was extremely nice, all bar staff nice too. We slept really well and it's in a beautiful location
