Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Beautiful location, very relaxed and friendly. We stayed one night but would have been happy to spend more time. The eggs were from the chickens, the home rhubarb jam delicious and the walnuts from the tree, perfect.

Everything was very nice we couldn’t fault anything. Pierre was very hospitable. Our room was lovely & the château was beautiful. The breakfast was amazing lots to choose from & some homemade jam & walnuts grown on the grounds. We wish we had returned rather than staying somewhere else after our holiday & on the way back to the shuttle. Will definitely recommend & will return if ever in the area again.

United KingdomIf you only like 100% restored places then maybe this is not for you. But for history buffs like me, it was spot on. It was clean, lovely and full of history / patina. Our room had a nice big bathroom with a mixer shower attachment in the bath - my only suggestion would be to install a walk in shower, or at least have a holder for the shower head. But no big deal for a night or two.
Pierre owns the property and greeted us on arrival - very friendly and wanted to make sure we were happy with everything. I loved the property which is very original throughout and maintains charm and history. It's not in a restored state, but I like this and it shows its patina. The beds were comfy, the water was hot and the breakfast was lovely. I'm going to stay again for sure on my way down and up through France. Plenty of parking. Great value for money.

United KingdomThere were a couple of windows with cracks and breaks in them so it might get draughty in winter if they aren't fixed. They probably will be though, and it was summer so it didn't matter to us. The path from the car parking area needs to have a bush trimmed back but that's a very minor complaint.
Pierre was a very friendly and welcoming host who made sure we knew the check-in arrangements etc. well ahead of time. We stayed in the attic suite, and although there should have been 4 of us, one of my sons decided to stay home so we only used the two rooms that had the en-suite bathrooms. The rooms were spacious and although basic, were charming. There were enough plug sockets to charge phones etc. and the showers were good. We got takeaway pizza from the local village (very good) and ate it in the breakfast room with a bottle of wine we'd brought. Pierre made sure we had crockery and glasses to use and told us where to leave the used things for him to clear away. He also made sure we knew how to get the balls for the pool table in the lounge. Breakfast in the morning was a friendly, communal affair at the long table in the breakfast room and there were excellent local cheeses, meats, fruit, home-grown walnuts, croissants, bread and plenty of coffee and freshly squeezed orange juice.

What a wonderful setting, ideal for the port of Dieppe. I was made very welcome by Pierre and the whole place had lots of French character. I had brought a picnic supper and Pierre immediately said to eat in dining room and to use his plates etc. I enjoyed walking around the lovely garden. There was also a sitting room for guests to use plus a pool table. The water was hot and the shower worked really well. Breakfast was great with most of the produce from his own garden I would certainly recommend highly.

SpainPlumbing and electrics are as you would expect from an old french property - perfectly serviceable but not polished - free wifi worked fine
Had a very kind welcome after a very long journey from a lovely host. Communication was excellent prior to our visit and we slept so well in this beautifully authentic french home. Our dog had the run of the property and loved the outside space. Homemade rhubarb jam, fresh farm eggs and walnuts from the trees outside set us up for the day and an easy drive to Calais on our way back to the UK.
