Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.

NetherlandsThe rooms are a bit noisy. We could hear the shower and toilet flushing from the room above. It did not keep us awake. But if you are a light sleeper you might want to bring ear plugs. There is also no kettle to boil water and not a lot of sockets. But we would definitely go back because the staff is so lovely.
We had a great time at Hotel Sancho. We were amazed by the hospitality of the staff. They were incredibly friendly and helpful. They gave us some great advice on visiting the city and went out of their way to help us with changing rooms (we switched after one night). It was really exceptional. The rooms were very clean and were provided with a soap, shampoo and some dental cleaning products. The beds were also comfortable. The location was great for us. We traveled by train and it was in walking distance from Atocha. It is also near two metro stations (we mostly used Delicias) and there is also a busstop very nearby. We didnt have breakfast at the hotel. There were a few really nice options in the street (we especially liked Rodilla).

United KingdomThere was nothing that I could really fault about this hotel. It was as expected. Although out 11 year old did realise that some of the rooms seemed to have a balcony, which our room didn't (this did not affect our stay at all).
The hotel is so close to the metro that you can almost get on a train as you leave the main door. It is ideal for travelling the city. There are many local facilities - bars, restaurants, shops etc - a short walk away. The room was spacious and clean, with the option to have housekeeping tidy the room daily or leave it as is. Our 11 year old was particularly impressed with the afternoon reception staff, who spoke to him every time we passed - sometimes a 'Hola' if busy with other guests. The terraces were great for sitting out in the evening, with option to be out in the front or back of the hotel.

RomaniaSmaller, intimate hotel, has everything you need, good breakfast, very clean, view of the Paseo de las Delicias or of the garden (you are asked which one you prefer), nice terrace at the 7th floor, very close to the metro station Delicias, just few meters away, and shops, including a supermarket, farmacy etc, also very close to Museo del Ferrocarril. Above all, great staff, like a family, always keen to help and take care in everything, even to lend you an umbrella when it rains.

I liked the staff. They were friendly and helpful. I believe the woman’s name at the front desk was named Monique. She was very nice and helpful even though my Spanish was very limited. Also the little coffee shop next to Hotel was very nice. I would get there about seven in the morning and enjoyed the coffee drinks and pastry and the people working there were very nice.

Very pleased with the room which was bigger than average for a city hotel and we had no problem requesting single beds as we are friends not a couple. This is becoming a real problem elsewhere. There was also a bath as well as a shower which we both like. Substantial buffet breakfast is offered in the dining room for very reasonable cost. They also offer dinner but we didn't need that. In addition there is a cafe for coffee and snacks which is open until 11 pm. Reception staff were very helpful and Reception is manned 24 hours a day which was important for us as we were returning in the early hours from the tennis tournament.
