We rented 21 Amsterdam apartment, which was very relaxing and stylish. We love the design of the flat - its fireplace with a large mirrow, decor on the ceiling, very quiet bedroom with a comfy bed, and a modern bathroom. The flat had everything we need and faces to a quiet courtyard. It locates 2 min walk to Gare Saint-Lazar, from which we traveled to Versailles. Even though the flat is accessible by code, a member of stuff met us at the entrance. They were very friendly at all times and held excellent communication.

The lobby and reception were obviously newly refurbished. The staff were friendly and helpful, despite my arrival being very late as my flight was delayed.

The room was looking rather tired, with very little in the way of comfort with the exception of the bed. The main lights were not working, and it was awkward to charge my phone. In addition, the towels, though large, were quite worn and showing their wear & tear. Also, I had to request that the tea/coffee sachets were replenished - which the staff did willingly. The breakfast, which should have been available till 10.30 on Sunday, almost completely ran out of food, and the staff were clearing away and laying for lunch by 10.00.

It does not have private parking even if though it is advertised as having parking facilities. The parking is public out of view of the hotel.

Nothing was as described. The kitchen plugs did not work except for the fridge and microwave, and the stove was broken. To make coffee, you have to put the machine in the sink and use the microwave plug. There is on small portable heater, but the entire apartment was very cold and damp. My socks did not dry for 4 days. The worst problem was lack of hot water for 3.5 days. When we were finally able to shower, the drain was stopped up and the bathroom flooded. In 5 days, each of the 3 of us got 1 shower each, and I mopped the water afterwards. The landlord treated us terribly. He blamed the city for the hot water, and said we would need to wait 2 hours between showers. Unacceptable if you are seeing a new city! He initially refused to provide the hair dryer listed in the description, claiming too many had been stolen by previous guests. We tried to leave after one night but he refused to refund us. After numerous complaints to Booking, he came out to fix the hot water problem. The second time, he told my daughter that I was stupid and he was not “our slave.” His overall attitude was that we were supposed to pay him, nothing was his fault, and he would yell if we wanted what was promised in the listing. Other little things are the mirror in the bathroom can only be used if you are 6 foot or taller. We paid a lot of money for a terrible experience with a rude landlord who did not perceive himself as a host or us as guests. It was a fraudulent listing that should be rated as a 1 not a 7.
